Rural Entrepreneurship Program
Some of our children will be at the La Grange Farmers Market this weekend launching their own products that they have developed through their participation in the Rural Entrepreneurship Program. It's been an amazing experience! Our oldest son will be introducing SPD Industries with his concept of self powered devices; our daughter will be bringing her Mandala Rocks! line of hand painted rocks with inspirational quotes; and our favorite little gardener is launching his own Gardanics farm stand, featuring organic cucumbers and watermelons. Come check them out and support the other fabulous youth that have put so much hard work into this program.

Gardening Calendar
For those of you who attended our Spring Gardening class and are thinking ahead to the fall, it's time to start seeding out those winter crops. Check out the gardening calendar that was in your handout and you'll see that August 1st is the time to start seeding broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale and swiss chard. You will grow these seedlings in a protected environment (inside the house or a greenhouse) until September 15th. It will be time to do a second seed planting in just 2 weeks. Fall will be here before you know it and you'll be ready for it if you start now!
