We are thrilled to share The Church of St. Andrew's has invited us to extend our stay in their front yard and expand the Community Roots Garden!  We are seeking a handful of adults to join us today, tomorrow or Wednesday to help dig, install 20 new garden beds, move dirt and get the space prepared to grow even more food in the 2020 season.  Sign up here to let us know you're coming or simply stop by, 135 Lafayette Street, Marblehead and stay for as little or long as you'd like.

Last year the garden yielded over 750 pounds of organic vegetables for area food pantries and neighbors experiencing food insecurity. We anticipate the expansion will nearly double our harvest.

No gardening experience necessary, just the ability to move dirt, dig and have fun in the name of positively impacting the life of someone else.

***Can't join us today but want to get involved with the garden? Join our garden team. No green thumb needed for this very flexible opportunity. As the garden grows so must our team of volunteers to harvest, weed and deadhead flowers. Please email our garden co-chairs Sue Golden & Nancy Geraghty to join the list and sign-up as you're able***
While a lot of our attention over the next three days will be on the garden, we wanted to keep our Back-to-School Drive in thought. We are off to a great start, but have a lot of work ahead of us in 13 days. With over 500 backpacks still in need of sponsoring, we are targeting 40 backpacks a day to reach our goal of supporting over 600 local kiddos. Please join us, spread the word and consider making a tax-deductible gift to sponsor a backpack today here
