News & Notes

Members needed for Teachers Cabinet

The Education Commissioner’s Teacher Cabinet seeks eight to 10 new members who can join the advisory group to share their hands-on classroom experience while helping shape statewide education policy. The new members will serve for two years, beginning in October 2019.

The advisory group is made up of teachers from around the state, representing small, medium, large, rural, suburban and urban school systems. The Commissioner’s goal for creating the Teacher Cabinet was to connect directly with teachers who can offer their local perspective and ensure policy makers and legislators also hear the voice of practicing teachers.

To be considered, fill out this application (DOC) and submit it by Thursday, Aug. 15, along with a résumé, narrative, signatures and letters of recommendation.

For more information, visit the Commissioner’s Teacher Cabinet webpage.
