Meaningfulness

Meaningfulness. That’s my theme for the season—the word I try to use when choosing which books to read and which to set aside, which experiences to make space for and where to focus energies.

Upcoming Workshop

The 2020 “Introduction to the Practice of Creative Writing” workshop at Kripalu–open to all—is June 28 through July 3. I hope you will join us.

What I'm Reading

I’m reading How Plants Work, Math with Bad Drawings, and The Gulf, a beautifully written history of the body of water nearest my home. I’m looking forward to Rick Moody’s new memoir on marriage, The Long Accomplishment. And I’m reading poetry by Campbell McGrath, John Brehm, and Joy Harjo. I’ll also be enjoying essays in the new anthology Eat Joy.

Keep in touch.
Life's short.
Write joy.
