SUMMER AT THE INSTITUTE

RESEARCH IN PROGRESS CELEBRATION *TOMORROW*
Reminder that all summer student researchers must attend!

Nothing says summertime in Williamsburg better than ice cream and Institute research!

We're celebrating! Remember this thursday is our Research In Progress Lightning Talk followed by an ice cream social. You will have the chance to present your work and progress to your fellow students, supervisors, and community members in 3 minutes. If you are interested in presenting at the seminar or have questions please email Alexander Nocks.

This celebration will take place on Thursday, July 25th from 4-6pm, at the Cohen Career Center. Be sure to email Alexander if interested in presenting. The most exciting presentation will be voted on and the winners will receive a piece of swag that they don't already own! Feel free to invite your friends!

GIS BOOT CAMP
Please note seats fill quickly.

Sign up for the Intro to GIS Bootcamp led by the Center for Geospatial Analysis (CGA). This short (3-5 day) introduction to GIS bootcamp is designed to give you both the practical GIS experience you will need to incorporate spatial analysis and mapping into your work and an opportunity to advance an existing project under the mentorship of the CGA staff.  The bootcamp will include lectures designed to provide broad GIS foundational knowledge, hands-on exercises to introduce you to ArcGIS and spatial analysis and time to work on individual projects.

The bootcamp is free and will run from 9am – 4pm on August 19th  - August 21st  with two additional days if you wish to stay and work on a GIS project.

Seats are limited so please sign up using the on-line registration form found at: http://forms.wm.edu/43114
