Monthly Newsletter
2020 is most important election of our lifetimes!

Indivisible South Bay is starting a campaign of regular activities-  phone-banking, textbanking, writing letters, writing postcards, and registering voters, and canvassing.

Our focus is on 11 swing states- and their races for Senate and key statewide offices (governor, attorney general, secretary of state). Click the image if you'd like to learn about the Super State strategy.

By winning, we can stop extreme right-wing Supreme Court nominees, prevent voter suppression, and end Republican gerrymanders!

We're looking for people interested in participating, and people willing to host occasional activities at their house.  If you're interested, please click the link.

Debate Watch Party - Round 3

The field has narrowed for this 3rd round!

Join us as we continue the long journey to find the best candidate to evict the current resident from the people's house!  We'll gather starting at 4:45 PM on the evening of Thursday Sept 12, at Sizzler on 2880 Sepulveda in Torrance.

September group meeting

Our next group meeting will be on Saturday, September 7 from 2:00 - 3:30PM, at Torrance Zamperini Field.

We'll discuss our new Super States campaign strategy in a bit more detail.

Our guest speakers will be
Alissa Nelson and J Matt from Extinction Rebellion, an international movement that uses non-violent civil disobedience to halt mass extinction and minimize the risk of social collapse.

For Thirty Minutes Of Activism, we'll be working on a campaign to reach out to "unlikely voters".  This is a personal reach-out to left-of-center people who are registered, but have not voted in recent elections- to discuss with them of the importance of the coming elections.

September Cause of the Month

Every month, we highlight a worthwhile cause.

This month we're asking you to consider donating to Planned Parenthood.  The Trump administration has pushed an unprecented attack on women's reproductive rights.  In the face of extreme limitations, Planned Parenthood recently decided to turn down federal funding.  This threatens the health of low-income women, including birth control, STD testing, and cancer screenings.

Donate today if you'd like to help Planned Parenthood continue
to provide services.

Ben Allen Town Hall

On August 6, we partnered with 4 other nearby Indivisible groups to host Senator Ben Allen in a Town Hall attended by about 70 people.  Patti Crane moderated a lively discussion, with many tough questions on a wide variety of topics.  We appreciate Senator Allen's willingness to engage with the audience and listen thoughtfully to his constituents.
Holding Our Elected Officials Accountable

We meet regularly with the staff of each of our elected representatives, at both the National and State level.  We advocate for our positions on current legislation, and provide feedback to them on their actions & votes.

The meetings are great way to engage in the democratic process!  The staff listens carefully - and we often see positive outcomes from these interactions. If you'd like to participate, look for upcoming meetings on the calendar link below.
