Art in the Heart of Dixie

Lake Jordan's Dixie Art Colony offered inspiration and a haven for Alabama artists in 1930 and 1940s.

Part of our mission is to promote the local creative economy and tourism. We are always pleased when an opportunity arises for us to be involved in promoting the arts, Elmore County, Wetumpka, and Alabama's lakes. Thank you Alabama Power Company for helping us spread the word about this important part of Alabama's history by featuring the Dixie Art Colony in the Summer 2019 issue of Shorelines magazine.
