Here’s what’s happening in Austin.

From frosé to floating down the river, the trickiest part about summer in Austin is finding entertaining ways to stay cool. Luckily, we’ve got the lowdown on swimming holes, plant-based ice cream runs, and all sorts of other health and fitness happenings to help you keep things chill this week.

💦 Take A Dip

In Austin, our summers will keep even the outdoorsiest of residents inside in the sweet, sweet A/C. But with spots like Deep Eddy Pool and Rio Vista Falls so close to the city, we’ve also got plenty of excuses to venture out for some sun and fresh air. So the next time you’re in the mood for a nature-filled adventure (and some relief from the heat), be sure to check out some of our most enchanting swimming holes.

🍅 Sun Raised, Scratch Made

Local fast casual Modern Market Eatery has introduced some exciting new items to their menu for the summer, including mouth-watering options like this Heirloom Tomato Toast featuring fresh avocado, goat cheese, fresh basil, and heirloom cherry tomatoes piled on top of crunchy sourdough bread! They’re whipping up tons of other seasonal dishes, too (like the Summer Heat Pizza or Corn & Poblano Chowder), so visit any of their three Austin locations to try out these flavors for yourself.

🍽 Have You Met This Luncheonette?

Everything is cuter when it’s tiny, and the new Patika Luncheonette in the 100 Congress building is no exception. That’s right — the South Lamar coffee shop you know and love has opened a cafe concept that’s serving breakfast and lunch made with fresh ingredients! We’re drooling over the Salmon Stuffed Avocado and the Prosciutto Sandwich. And with grab-and-go and order ahead options available, this is about to be your go-to for a quick (and high-quality) meal downtown.
