Past Issues

Here’s what’s happening in London.

While the major heatwave we’re all dealing with has left us navigating early restaurant closures and postponed rooftop yoga sessions, there’s still plenty going on in our city. So, while you’re kicked back in front of the A/C, take a look at what’s going down in the London health and fitness scene this week — we’ve got all the need-to-know details.

💪 Ten Out Of Ten

Boutique fitness chain Ten Health & Fitness is taking the Big Smoke by storm, with plans to double its presence over the next three years. It’s all thanks to the help of a whopping £4m investment from Foresight Group. And, considering they already have eight studios across London, with a ninth planned near Tottenham Court Road for later this year, you can expect them to soon be on practically every corner in London. Be sure to bookmark their ‘gram to stay up to date.

☠️ Death By (Vegan) Cheese

In their quest to prove vegans no longer have to miss out on their fave fast foods, plant-based concepts Biff's Jack Shack and Death By Pizza have teamed up to create a monster vegan burger/pizza hybrid. Introducing, the vegan mozzarella-stuffed burger patty. Because what’s better than melty cheese? Deep-fried melty cheese, of course. The only downside is that these babies are available for a limited time only. So, get yourself down to Biff's Walthamstow or Shoreditch spots to taste test this creation while you still can!

🍽 Supper With Friends

And if your mouth wasn’t watering enough already, get a load of what you can expect at the upcoming Supper Club collab hosted by vegan restaurant Tell Your Friends and plant-powered chef Brett Cobley. Held on the first day of August, visitors can sink their teeth into a feast of tasty treats, including a personal fave — Baconcini, aka smokey ‘bacon’ risotto balls. Be sure to grab a ticket before they sell out.

🥕 Veg Out

Sustainable produce shop Natoora is putting its radically-seasonal fruits and veggies to good use with the launch of its first cafe at its new store on Portobello Road in Notting Hill. Named Natoora Counter, the totally traceable menu is comprised of healthy and tasty dishes made from scratch using their trusted supply chain of farmed ingredients. Expect big flavours, bright colours and plenty of flair.

🥘 Middle Eastern Eats

Bubala has made a name for itself on the pop-up circuit by serving up some of the best Middle Eastern-inspired vegetarian eats the city has to offer. So it’s no surprise they have finally secured their first brick-and-mortar site, set to open on Commercial Street, Spitalfields, early this autumn. Menu highlights will include deep-fried aubergine with zhoug and date syrup, cabbage braised in a dried mushroom stock with pomegranate molasses and zaatar chimichurri, and confit potato latkes, served with toum garlic sauce. Delish!

💦 Take a Dip

As London is headed for its hottest summer on record, there’s no better time to grab your beach bag and take a dip in the pool. Luckily, we’ve got you covered with some of the best natural swimming spots in the city. From Hampstead Heath’s enclosed ponds to the tranquil Serpentine River lido, you’ve got loads of picturesque options to choose from. Escaping the buzz (and the heat) of the city never felt so refreshing.
