Benefits of Catnip

Catnip is native to Central Europe and is found in Canada and Northeast America. Using the dried leaves and flowers of this plant are very medicinal and used for various reasons.
The tea is most often used from the dried herb, but you can also take it in tincture form.

Catnip is used for the following reasons:

Magic Mushrooms

The sound of medicinal mushrooms scare many people off, however mushrooms are very powerful plants to be used for the immune system, and are best to be taken as a powder or capsule full of powder. You can easily take the cap or add the powder to a smoothie or latte, etc.
Each medicinal mushroom provides its own list of health benefits, but in summary this is what they help with:

Reishi:
Helps with weight loss, fighting cancer cells, and boosting the immune system. Also helps with focus, depression, anxiety and sleep.

Lion's Mane:
This is the mushroom to use for mental clarity. It increases the production of nerve growth factor and myelin, which helps prevent against Alzheimer.

Chaga:
Powerful mushroom that fights against free radicals, and lowers LDL cholesterol. Helps with aging as well and inflammation.

Shiitake:
Shiitake is good for heart health, and lowers LDL, blood pressure and increases circulation. Good for stir fry foods.

Turkey Tail:
This is a prescribed anti-cancer drug in Japan. It is a powerful antioxidant and boost the immune system.

Fighting Fatigue in Pregnancy

 

Majority of women experience fatigue during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester During early pregnancy your body raises in the hormone progesterone causing sleepiness. Blood pressure usually decreases as well and blood volume increases which also increases fatigue. Anemia from low iron is common as well during pregnancy. Although, it is common to have fatigue there are many ways to help fight it, such as the following:

1. Exercise 30 mins a day!
Exercising just 30 mins a day helps fight fatigue, and improves sleep. Walking and yoga are great choices for pregnancy.
2. Make sure to sleep at least 8-9 hours
3. Drink an Extra 10 ounces of water then normal
4. Check Iron levels and take as needed
5. Eat Small Frequent Nutrient Packed foods

6. Limit Caffeine
7. Relax
8. Talk to your Doctor

Breakfast Smoothie
 

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups nut milk or so, add more as needed
  • scoop of frozen blueberries
  • scoop of frozen strawberries or raspberries
  • scoop of marion berries or blackberries
  • 2 tablespoons of organic peanut butter
  • 3 dates pitted out
  • 1 teaspoon of grounded flax seed
  • 1 teaspoon of mixed greens powder

Directions:

  1. Blend all ingredients together into blender and drink
