Maleny Commerce Newsletter - July/August 2019
A message from our President
From the President
I love reporting good news and this is great news!
We are happy to advised that the Maleny Christmas Street Festival will go ahead this year as planned. We thank the other groups that have put up their hand to take on some of the many roles involved with this festival each year so it becomes a true community Christmas Festival. Any funds raised from the raffle sales will be going to the Maleny Hospital Auxiliary. Our committee thanks executive Karen Shaw for running with it for another year. It's a massive job putting on a big community festival and we hope everyone gets out and supports it when the time comes.
We have two events coming up that some of our members are involved with. The Maleny Wedding Festival is being held this weekend at the Maleny Showgrounds and they are expecting over 1000 brides to attend. That sounds like hard work! Following is the upcoming inaugural Curated Plate being held between the 5th and 18th August. To our members that are involved with either of these programs we wish you all the best for a very successful event. If you want to know more about either of these events click on the links to visit their websites.
Of course both of these events will bring visitors to our region. Put out your welcome mat, get them in store and spending in town and invite them to come back. Don't forget we have an excellent Information Centre you can refer them too.
This month we join the Montville Chamber breakfast and we are looking forward to having breakfast as the beautiful Clovelly Estate (see the details below). Thank you to their President Shiralee Cooper for the invite.
Kind regards
Nicole
