Dear Readers,
If you don't follow my blog, here's a recent post about vulnerability. I'll tell you (my reader's group) that vulnerability is on my mind because I have a non fiction book coming. I don't have many details to share yet, so stay connected to find out more.
As far as unpacking and moving--I'm far from settled in. Some days I enjoy the luxury to go slow, some days I'm sick of the boxes that are still unpacked.
One thing I'm practicing this summer though, is to avoid the "tyranny of urgency." My prayer group read "The Good and Beautiful God" by James Byron Smith recently. I had so many false ideas about God that came from tradition, religion and ignorance. I wholeheartedly recommend this book if you want to "fall in love with the God that Jesus knew."
As far as having incorrect ideas about God--It occurred to me that if you learned your times tables wrong, it doesn't negate the validity of 3x5. Memorizing a different answer than "15" doesn't mean multiplication is faulty.
For your eyes only
Here it is, the surprise cover reveal for my upcoming fiction novel, Sworn to the Desert. I'm very excited to share Cori's story. When I first wrote Sovereign Ground I never intended to write a sequel. I just kept hearing Leah's voice in my head and she wouldn't quiet until I finished Heart of Petra.
But long before that, people would comment, "I want to know about Cori."
So her she is.
Each book stands alone and can be read independently. They belong in a series because the characters interact, but they are not true sequels.
I'm not ready to promote the book online and I don't have a release date just yet. But I can say it will be this year. In the meantime, I'm looking for readers to receive a free advanced reader copy (ARC) in exchange for a review.
This time around, I'm only offering free copies to those who have written a review for both Sovereign Ground and Heart of Petra. (By the way, both of those books have new covers which I'll show you first as well.)
If you want to receive a free copy of Sworn to the Desert and have posted a review for both books on ANY of the following: Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or BookBub, then send me an email. Please include the links and I'll sign you up. If you've read them but haven't posted your reviews, it isn't too late. They only need to be honest--not eloquent, detailed or favorable.
In Love,
Hilarey
