The Mack Laing Heritage Society will be participating in the Comox Nautical Day Parade on Monday, August 5, 2019. Supporters are welcome to join us as we celebrate Mack Laing and his important contributions to Comox and Canada. The parade marshalling is on Gladstone, below Comox Elementary School, at 9:30 am. The parade will begin at 10:30 am.

The BC Association of Heritage Professionals (BCAHP) has written a strong letter to BC Attorney General David Eby, and Hon. Doug Donaldson, Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources, advocating saving Mack Laing's former home of Shakesides. Read the letterHERE.

The BC Attorney General is prosecuting the municipality of West Vancouver for failing to create a park on land donated for the purpose by a benefactor. Similarities with the Shakesides and Mack Laing Trust case before the BC Supreme Court have been noted.
