Dear Neighbor:

Summer is in full swing, and there's no reason to leave the neighborhood this weekend to find some seasonal fun.

Please join me tonight at the Argyle Night Market, 5-9pm, on Argyle St. between Kenmore and Sheridan.
Tonight's market will feature almost 30 vendors, a drum circle and dance party, and the music of Soul Vortex featuring Sam Trump! This free community event is fun for all ages. Click here for more information.

Today also marks the first day of the annual Alamo Shoes Sidewalk Sale. Check out the behind-the-scenes interview with Alamo Shoes co-owner Richard Price on this week's Always Andersonville podcast. Alamo Shoes is a neighborhood institution and an anchor in the Andersonville community. Their annual sidewalk sale starts one day ahead of the district-wide Andersonville Summer Sidewalk Sale.

The Andersonville Summer Sidewalk Sale kicks off tomorrow and runs through Sunday, July 28. The sale will feature more special deals at more than 40 businesses in Andersonville, live music, and pop-ups at Clark & Summerdale. For the complete details, including information on Women & Children First's annual used book sale happening in conjunction with the event, click here.

And tomorrow night there will be more sidewalk fun happening in Edgewater with Bands on Broadway. Tomorrow, Friday, July 26, 7-9pm, the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce has booked more than 10 bands to play at select sidewalk cafes along Broadway and Devon Ave. This festive event will add a lively feeling throughout the community, getting us into the spirit for EdgeFest (August 3&4). Please considering dining out in Edgewater tomorrow night and enjoying some live music with neighbors. Click here for more information about Bands on Broadway.

Please join me in taking advantage of these exciting events that support our local businesses and contribute to making the 48th Ward a great place to live.

Sincerely,

Harry Osterman
