Assalamu alaykum,

We have 5 updates to share with you today:

(1) Our next Youth Night activity for boys 14+ will be on Saturday, July 27.

(2) We're holding a storytime program for children to learn more about Hajj and Eid ul-Adha.

(3) Our program for breastfeeding and pregnant mothers returns for its next session this upcoming Tuesday.

(4) We are no longer accepting clothing donations and request the community to do not drop clothes off any more.

(5) If you are interested in volunteering for AMA you can apply online.

#1. Youth Night for Boys is this Saturday

Our next Youth Night event for boys is right around the corner!

Come and join us for an evening of fun where you’ll get to:

  • Play videogames (FIFA, Super Smash Bros, etc.),
  • Play ping pong (1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2)

We’re also including free pizza! Here are the details for the upcoming Youth Night:

Date: Saturday, July 27

Time: 6:00 – 10:00 PM

Location: Community hall of Masjid ar-Rahmah

Age: Boys 14+

Cost: the event will be FREE

#2. Story Time for Children about Hajj & Eid

We will have a special program for children coming soon.

A guest from Toronto will be joining us at AMA to share Islamic stories with children about the blessed Hajj & Eid ul-Adha. There will also be crafts and a mock mini-Hajj workshop.

If your child loves listening to great stories and having a fun time, then this is one activity you won’t want to miss! Parents are welcome to join too!

Here are the details:

Date: Sunday, August 4 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM

Location: Community hall of Masjid ar-Rahmah | 1216 Hunt Club Rd.

Instructor: Inas Abusheika

Ages: boys and girls ages 4 – 8 years old (3 year olds may come if accompanied by a parent throughout the program)

Cost: $5 drop-in fee at the door and you can sign up online

#3. Gathering for Nursing & Expecting Women | La Leche League Support

AMA is proud to offer support for breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women in alliance with the world renowned La Leche League Canada. La Leche League are experienced in breastfeeding and are familiar with the research and current findings dealing with breastfeeding.

La Leche conducts a series of casual, discussion-style meetings that cover the practical, physical, and psychological aspects of nursing, offering encouragement and suggestions.

Topics such as nutrition, parenting, and birth are also discussed.

Here are the details:

Date: Tuesday,  July 30

Time: 9:45 AM – 11:45 AM

Location: Community hall of Masjid ar-Rahmah (1216 Hunt Club Rd)

Age/Gender: Females only, babies and toddlers welcome

Cost: Free

English and French, plus translation available for Arabic speakers.

#4. Important Message Regarding Clothing Donations

Please be advised that we are no longer accepting clothing donations. We ask the community to not drop off clothing in our masjid anymore.

#5. Are you Interested in Volunteering for AMA?

We are thankful for the interest presented by the community in response to the call for volunteering to support our common cause and the mission of AMA.

If you have expertise that can benefit our organization then you can apply through the following steps:
