FRP-BC
July 2019 Bulletin

Tara (left) & Michelle (right)FRP-BC has news! There have been several recent changes at FRP-BC including a new Provincial Director, Tara Nargang, and a move from Langley to a new office in Victoria. There’s more! FRP-BC also recently hired a new Provincial Coordinator, Michelle Dzbik. Please see Tara and Michelle’s bios below to find out the breadth of experience and passion that they bring to the organization.

We are excited to be connecting with partners and family service organizations across the province. Now that we are settling  into our new office, we are looking forward to learning more about the changing needs in this sector and enhancing our services to better meet those needs. A few examples of enhanced services include a streamlined Standards of Practice process that will make it simpler for family service organizations to be accredited, as well as a brand new website allowing members to give feedback on what they identify as priorities for FRP-BC support.

We will be hosting a grand opening soon and will post a date and invitation for those that are nearby or visiting. We would love to see you in our new space then!

Warmly,
Tara and Michelle

Tara NargangTara

Tara’s 25 years of community work has taken her throughout the Kootenays, Caribou, Lower Mainland, Okanagan as well as overseas. These rich experiences have led Tara back to Victoria where she has settled for the past 17 years. As the new Provincial Director of FRPBC, she brings FRP front line experience working in programs such as pre/post natal; immigration groups; pilot projects for youth and mental health; and family outreach to name a few.  She is inspired by the concrete results that happen in collaborative work and is thrilled to be back as part of the bigger picture lens: supporting FRPs, capacity building, and working with partners to make sure FRPs have access to resources, information, and standards.  This is an exciting time to be a part of FRPBC with the deserved attention of Early Years strategy and focus. You can find her at the new FRPBC office in Fernwood, Victoria.

When she is not at work in her favourite neighbourhood, you will find her enjoying the dog beach with her old Golden, driving her teens somewhere, or sitting on the deck with her hubby.

MichelleMichelle Dzbik

Michelle has spent the last several years serving the Victoria community in various capacities, driven by a passion for building relationships founded on trust, respect, and inclusion.  With plenty of experience living and volunteering abroad, she has a particular interest in cultivating understanding and forging connections between a diversity of people. She is excited to be able to leverage her knowledge and skills in office administration, event coordination, and social networking on behalf of FRPs while serving as Provincial Coordinator at FRP-BC. In her spare time, Michelle can be found dancing salsa and bachata, studying Spanish, or exploring the outdoors.
