I've always felt uneasy about asking people to volunteer on RideStaffs events. If there's a job to be done it feels like the right thing that someone gets paid a living wage to do it.
But as an organisation that's about getting more people to do more cycling, it feels a little unfair if affordability is a barrier to people doing as many RideStaffs events as they'd like to. Something a few people have said from time to time.
So for our sportives on 11th August, I'm offering the opportunity for people to exchange a couple of hours of their time to help us manage the route of the sportives in exchange for a place in another sportive (either Lymestone Cowboy in September, or an event in 2020).
I'm looking for a person (or people, happy to offer 2 places if you want to have a friend for company) in the following approximate locations on the 11th August for the following times:
- Cold Meece (0845-1100)
- Maer near Chapel Chorlton (0830-1000)
- Moddershall (1130-1230)

Our next sportive (Lymestone Cowboy) in September features a free bar at the end. So while it's true there's no such thing as a free lunch, I can offer you a free drink (as long as you're over 18, strictly soft drinks if you're not).
