Inspired by the National Votes for Women Trail Project, volunteers here in Sonoma County are researching the places where suffragists lived, were buried and held their meetings. Once identified we hope to create paper as well as online maps that will allow people, tourists and locals alike, to locate and read about the significance of particular sites throughout the County. One such site will include the home of Isabel Grigsby Denman (1837-1917) who hosted a number of Political Equality Club meetings in her parlor at 312 Sixth Street in Petaluma during the late 1890s.
