GIM in the Community

Communities for Wellness Equity (C4WE): Community Voices

Continuing the legacy of Dr. Loretta Jones, on July 12th, 2019, Healthy African American Families II (HAAF) and the National Clinician Scholars Cohort of 2018-2020 hosted a community partnered conference co-sponsored by the CTSI Community Engagement and Research Program (CERP) at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Mall.

With over 175 South Los Angeles community members, policy, and academic stakeholders voices were heard regarding the facilitators and challenges of social determinants of health impacting community.  Participants identified priority issues for which action-oriented work groups will be formed to address housing, education, violence & trauma/safety, and nutrition & food security.  Recap video here.
