Our window for finishing data collection is closing fast, and we need all principal atlasers to focus on the following tasks in the coming days and weeks.

Critical Tasks For Your Open Blocks

1. Enter All Outstanding Data By Sunday, July 28
On Monday, July 29, we will be analyzing the entire data set to identify which priority/specialty blocks still require work in the final weeks of the project. We're very happy to report that the number of remaining blocks will be quite low—meaning successful completion of the project is in sight—but we need all data in the system to plan our final push effectively.

Entering data at a later time will not only limit our ability to effectively plan our final push, but will also have the potential to negatively affect completed blocks. Adding any new species after a block has been marked complete will lower the block's confirmation percentage, potentially changing the block's completion status when it will be too late to fix.

2. Complete Your Blocks ASAP: Only Two Weeks of Atlasing Left
We have only two weeks at most of productive atlasing left, and our focus must be on confirming species with the goal of completing blocks. Before a block can be closed, at least 50% of the number of species coded with Possible/Probable/Confirmed codes (Observed-only codes like F do not factor into this equation) must be confirmed as breeding.

To save time in the field, focus on species that are still only listed as Probable or Possible. To check a block's species list, type the block name into the "explore a region" search box. The resulting page shows block statistics, as well as the current species list for the block. Hit the "Breeding Evidence" column title twice to sort species from lowest to highest codes.

3. Ask For Help
If you need help with confirmations, please let us know ASAP. We have atlas ninjas ready to help! You can also alert us if you think your block has been completed but hasn't yet been marked as such. Talk to your County Coordinator or let us know at atlas@wsobirds.org.

We're almost there, thanks to you!
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
