TOM REED COMING TO ELMIRA

On Tuesday, July 30th, from 1 pm to 2 pm, Congressman Reed will hold a Town Meeting at the Steele Memorial Library, 101 East Church Street. Elmira.
 
This is an easy drive from most of Tompkins County. Join others to voice your concerns and ask those pressing questions as a voter in the NY 23^rd.
 
The thrust of the meeting focuses on Social Security and Medicare.The Congressman’s main concern here seems to be protecting big business from an increase in the ceiling of taxable Social Security income (https://reed.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=2763), not insuring the solvency of the system for future generations. Come prepared to hold Mr. Reed accountable for preserving Social Security for our children and grandchildren.
 
Congressman Reed also needs to hear from us on these and other issues.

• Why has he refused to officially condemn the President’s racist speech (https://buffalonews.com/2019/07/16/reed-collins-refuse-to-back-resolution-condemning-trumps-inflammatory-tweets/) and continued to defend the President from charges of racism?
•  Why does he downplay the horrendous conditions at border camps that hold undocumented immigrants at the border (http://www.wrfalp.com/reed-acknowledges-crisis-at-u-s-mexican-border-calls-on-colleagues-in-problem-solvers-caucus-to-fix-it/) and instead condemn many immigrants as criminals?
