Announcing Libraries on Tap Season 2! Join us this August for our regionwide brewery scavenger hunt event series! Drink local beer, learn a few things, and win prizes!

Libraries on Tap: Brewing Scavenger Hunt (LOT) is a partnership between the Fontana Regional Library (FRL) system and local breweries in Jackson, Macon, and Swain counties. This is the second annual brewing scavenger hunt. Participants visit brewing and library locations to collect stamps throughout the month of August on their punch cards. They can receive one stamp for each location (brewery or library) anytime during the duration of Libraries on Tap - the month of August - they do not have to attend an event to get a stamp. Participants collect stamps to win prizes. 5 stamps = a bottle opener and 8 stamps = a LOT trucker hat.

Fontana Regional Library celebrates its 75^thanniversary this summer, honoring the library’s humble beginnings in 1944, when the Tennessee Valley Authority sponsored a regional bookmobile to visit the most remote areas of Jackson, Macon and Swain Counties.

To celebrate this 75^th birthday, FRL will spend the rest of this year collecting stories from patrons about how and why the library has been important to them and their families. “75 Stories for 75 Years” will capture the best of library history and the stories of library patrons, while inviting donations to the campaign to raise $75,000 for library services by the end of 2019.
