Today's message is from Joni Oswald one of the leaders in our congregation. I am thankful for her message and her leadership to help us follow God's call here at Shiloh.  I pray you take the time to read her message.
-Pastor Tyler
Greetings People of Shiloh:

This year marks my third year at Shiloh UMC and my first as a new leader of the Welcoming Team.  When Pastor Tyler enthusiastically approached me about this opportunity, I of course, thought that I was too “new” to the church and didn’t know everything I should know to be successful. Sounded kind of hard too.  My first inclination was to say NO! Sound familiar?

There are stories in our Bible about many leaders who thought they just didn’t have the skills needed to take on something new and maybe something scary.  God makes it easy for us. “Follow Me”. “Trust me”. “I will not forsake you, ever”. Have a little faith, will ya?

Pastor Tyler provided me with a lot of reading material, encouragement and asked me to pray about the position before making the decision.  We met several times and after prayer and reflection, I said yes and feel so blessed to be a part of this Welcoming Team.

What an important role a Pastor has as a counselor and educator and in my case, a cheerleader.  Just one of many responsibilities necessary to lead a church. I am thankful that we have a Pastor who looks outside the box and finds opportunity in the many challenges we are facing in our world, our church and our denomination.  Pastor Tyler challenges our thinking and asks the hard questions about the present and future of Shiloh.

We have the opportunity to thrive in these times of challenge and change by loving God and one another.    “If God is for us, who can be against us?”  Romans: 8:31

The vision statement for Shiloh is, “Peace, Hope, Love, Joy – Every One, Every Day, Every Where.”  People of Shiloh, this is how we show the world and each other how to live in Christ.  God is calling You-Say YES!!

Blessings to You and Yours, Joni Oswald
