Upshot Lane Fields – Development Site Allocations
Woking Borough Council (WBC) approved final proposals for submission to the Secretary of State (SoS) last Thursday 25 July.  These were unchanged from those you commented on last November-December in the Regulation 19 consultation. They did NOT include either of our fields.
 
This is not the end of the story, however.  The next and last step is for the SoS to approve the WBC proposals.  That will include an Examination in Public at which vested interests could lobby, one final time, that proposals should include our fields and the SoS could recommend that WBC reconsider.
 
So to ensure the critical area illustrated in the photograph above remains in green belt we must remain vigilant and the Forum plan to prepare for any such eventuality.  If any of you have asked to speak at any Examination in Public we would like to know on info@pyrfordforum.org so that we can coordinate our approaches.
 
Heritage Conservation Project
In the meantime, we have done a lot of preparation but it must be said that not much progress has yet been made on doing the research necessary.  However, we have kicked off the landscape and townscape assessment work that will be so necessary when considering individual heritage assets in more detail.  If you’d like to help then please let us know at info@pyrfordforum.org – you’ll be made very welcome.
 
Fundraising Campaign
Many thanks to those of you who popped by our stand at Pyrford Flower Show.  Our aerial photographs of Pyrford, West Byfleet and Victoria Square provide a great talking point with many of you and the raffle prize, for an aerial trip around the area in Ian Whittle’s plane, proved popular - especially with our winner Nicky Andrews!!
