In May 2019, New Orleans East gained a business whose return its residents had collectively awaited for years — a neighborhood coffee shop. The call for this business was answered by New Orleans East residents Stephanie Chambliss and Elwood McCoy.
Another proposal for the former Six Flags amusement park
After the distribution of the NOELA survey to collect readers’ thoughts about what should happen with the former Six Flags park, dialog has continued about the best use for the site, and without a definitive time frame for future meetings to resume talks about plan for the site, developers are looking for support from residents to jump start the effort.
Last week, I shared the plans for the proposed Jazzland Theme Park, which was presented by Tonya Pope of the Paidia Company.
