Pork Belly
Pork Belly is an undeniable crowd pleaser, the trick is to get it right. Check out this step by step guide from thespruceeats.com which has become one of my go to resources this year. One of the things to do is leave it uncovered in the fridge as described in the Tips section of the recipe.

NZ Navel Oranges are great eating right now. Make sure you push the boat out and try using some for a main meal as part of a salad, the classic Orange and Fennel Salad is a great stand by or have a go at this Orange and Carrot Salad. Broccoli 2 for $3
Green vegetables are starting to tighten up a little this week as we get a little bit of bad weather that slows the growth and makes it more difficult to harvest crops. Broccoli however, is still good buying, so make sure you put some on your menu plan. Broc and Blue Cheese Soup is a winner this week.

Traditional Spare Ribs
I have eaten a lot of Ribs this year and have been looking out for some different ways to cook them. I came across this Sweet and Sour Vietnamese version that looks good and will be a dinner for me this week. If you want to have a go at this recipe ask us to cut your ribs down the middle when you buy them.

Parsnip
Parsnip Crisps are amazing and pretty easy to make. Have a go at this oven baked recipe if you don't want to mess around with deep frying. They would go perfectly with a beer or glass of wine on Friday night.
