Is this what it's supposed to look like?

I went into the beta process thinking that for a tester to have the best experience they needed to have all of their books loaded into the app.

For a user with hundreds of books, it takes a few days to onboard them. It also comes with a load of hand cramps too. 😬

I've been wondering: Given the nature of my product and the fact that I'm working alone, is this a typical phase of bootstrapping? Or is this a sign that something is wildly inefficient in my approach and addressing that is of the utmost urgency?

I mean — Yahoo! started as a manual list of websites, so I'm not being totally silly here, right?

Last week
 

The StoryGraph had a new HQ — The Hyatt in Pune, India.

In between supporting the first cohort of users, making performance improvements, and fixing little bugs, I only managed to onboard one further user — though they did have a list of 400 books!

This week

The main event is the first round of customer interviews for the beta.

I'm going to write the script now and plan to complete the analysis before the next newsletter — hopefully I'll have some interesting insights to share with you all. 😁
