Forward Forward
Dear ones,

I hope this finds you having a summer just as it should be, knowing that hard and challenging things arise as often as celebrations and successes - trusting that we have companionship, good food, and God's love reflected to, and surrounding us in the midst of all. The hot sunny days on Vancouver Island have shifted - this morning, Victoria is waking to the sound of the foghorn and the ground is decidedly damp. There is still much of summer to be lived, and today the weather reminds me of fall ... it's close. Too close? If nothing more than a reminder to get some plans set for connections made, I'll send the gentle call of the horn your way too.

What used to live faithfully as largely an administrative ministry called Conference, the Regional Council format empowers our office to intentionally live into the deeper ministry of connecting community across the Pacific Mountain Regional Council. With Whitehorse UC on Taa’an Kwächän/ Kwanlin Dün territory, Rundle Memorial UC on Treaty 7 territory/ Banff, and all United Church communities of faith and ministries within the settler boundaries of BC, we are doing this work with delight. We're strengthening our existing systems and practices, and creating new channels for our United Church people to nurture relationships and experience success in our work as the church alive

One practice is listening to the requests for training and support that is decidedly United Church in flavour and substance, that can resonate with your ministry setting. We're extremely pleased, as our Regional Council, to partner with exceptional trainers and facilitators, and highlight these opportunities for United Church ministers, staff, community of faith members and friends this fall.
Which one (or two or more!) can you join us at?

And... if travel to Calgary is possible, Executive Minister Treena Duncan will be attending The Great Spiritual Migration with Brian MacLaren, and warmly invites other PMRC and Chinook Winds United Church people to attend as well.

'till when we next connect,
peace, Beloved.

~ Tressa

* Correction: it is Beverly Brown's (not Beverly Brazier) who we celebrate in her role as new council member to the National Indigenous Council.
