Your Invitation to stand for the IEP Board

The Institute of Employability Professionals (IEP) is first and foremost a Membership organisation. Its Members and Fellows can participate in a number of ways but it's especially important to get involved in deciding who runs the IEP on a day to day basis, and sets its strategy. As you will probably know that's the IEP Board. You can read more about the make-up of the current Board here. Every year a number of Directors complete their term of office and stand down and you have the chance to stand for Election as a Board Member; and to vote in the election yourself.

This year there are going to be five (5) vacancies on the Board so we want a good number of candidates to come forward and we really want those candidates to come from a wide range of backgrounds; you must be an IEP Member, Associate or Fellow to stand for Election. We would particularly welcome candidates from frontline delivery and frontline management roles and from a whole range of organisations to stand for Election. If you are not a current member of the IEP you can upgrade your membership here.

If you want to stand here's how it's going to work:

Getting young people work ready

The CBI’s latest report shows that almost one in four young people aged 17-23 do not feel adequately prepared by their education for the world of work, with close to half of all employers (44%) agreeing with this statement.

The CBI calls for a number of reforms such as rethinking qualifications, developing a shared understanding of ‘character’ and joining up the government’s careers strategy with the youth charter.

The IEP is the professional membership institute for the employability sector. When you become a Member you join a network of people committed to best practice and gain opportunities to learn and share ideas with fellow employability professionals. As well as helping you with your current job it will help you build your career.

We have added more and more benefits to our Individual Membership Programme over the last year, as a result, it is becoming increasingly more valued by employers and recruiters.  We want to make sure that these benefits properly reflect frontline employees’ needs and so we have created a survey so you can tell us what you think, it is as simple as that and will take no more than a few minutes to complete.
