A poem for you
Camera in the woods
a low stone wall covered in moss
trees and bushes on either side
chilled, moist air from the nearby swamp
a path meanders through it all
grasses crushed by foot and by hoof
a trail now borrowed by a fox
amber red fur and bushy tail
it trots along then stops
its snout pointed right at me
my camera captures its stare
such cunning intelligence!
driven by some unknown force
it disappears along a bend
I readjust my stance
to get more comfortable
perhaps I’ll see a deer
or pheasants on the move
