In gratitude to the few...

Dear Friend,
In 1999, when Dr. Byer and others at Virginia Hospital Center ventured on a medical mission to help survivors of Hurricane Mitch, little did they know that their effort would lead to where we are today, a thriving nonprofit offering greater healthcare access, community solutions and capacity building to the underserved in Honduras.
More than halfway through the year, as we reflect on the Brigade's 20th anniversary and prepare to celebrate on September 28, I am reminded of the network of devoted supporters such as yourself who have made this possible.
We want to thank you for the many years of support that you have provided to the Brigade. And as one of the few - who are helping so many - let's continue to invite others to be part of this work.
Please take a moment to view our latest volunteer opportunities on Idealist.org and share this link with friends and colleagues: http://bit.ly/vhcmb-volunteer-opps.
May the few become many!
Sincerely,
Sara L. Allen
Executive Director

Skin-safe Summer Sun
Even in the waning days of summer, it's good to stay protected from the sun's rays.
Sunscreen and a hat can go a long way to keep you healthy, helping to prevent cataracts and skin cancer down the road.

Tickets are required and include a complimentary glass of wine, hors d'oeuvres, a dinner buffet, slideshow and what promises to be an entertaining fund-a-need courtesy of Dr. Byer and other volunteers.
We'll wind down the evening with sunset and dessert on the patio.
