Inverclyde's Great Place Scheme, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, is delighted to invite you to an art exhibition and musical recital showcasing the work produced by the people of Inverclyde to celebrate James Watt, Father of the Industrial Revolution in the Beacon Arts Centre on Friday 23rd August at 6pm.
Curated by Local Artist Annie McKay and Musician Yvonne Lyon, this mixed-media, all-age exhibition and recital is a culmination of workshops for participants aged from 11 to 93 years tasked with taking the life and times of James Watt as stimuli to inspire creative responses. Participants have included pupils from Whinhill Primary School, Greenock; students from the Stella Maris Unit at Notre Dame High School, Greenock; the organisations Reach for Autism, and Moving On, (supporting people in recovery from addictions) plus local community members.
