Hello Kapiti!
It's been a while since we got in touch and we have some exciting news to share so we've emerged from the bush to say hi!
In our last newsletter we told you we were leaving Wellington for the wild West Coast. We have settled in nicely in a small hexagon hut surrounded by rainforest just above Punakaiki (see above). Needless to say we are loving it.
Although as I write this we are staying in Paraparaumu on the more familar coast of Kapiti. We are here for two weeks to choose sites and meet folk for an exciting new project...

If you have been following us online you would have seen many vague references to a #SecretProject in the last couple of weeks.
As of last Wednesday, when we attended a fancy launch event at Parliament, we can let you in on some of the secret. The story goes like this:
Back in March as we were wrapping up Ocean Store we happened to run into Bret McKenzie outside our flat. We are massive fans, obviously (the Flight of the Conchords radio show was on regular rotation in our studio), and so we gifted him some of our artworks and a copy of our Miniature Hikes book that we happened to have on hand.
Well to our surprise he said he was a fan of the #minihikes huts and that he'd actually been looking for us! He told us that he is working with the New Zealand Festival and would we consider doing a similar project again!?
Well of course we said yes, and that is what we are doing right now. It's fantastic working with the festival who are an incredibly supportive team. It’s a big move for us and we are delighted at how it came about – what a crazy time in our lives!
Read their official announcement here
We're still working on details of the project so keep an eye out as we reveal more over the next couple months before the big programme launch in November. Exciting times indeed!

In other exciting news our illustration commission for the Wellington City Council's Bond St container has just been installed. See more images here - or better yet, go and check it out in person.
All the best until next time,
