In this era of drastic change in healthcare, it is crucial that health information technology also changes and adapts. In 2019, GLHC is changing the vendor that supports many of our solutions to meet your needs and support health care and coordination in Michigan.


Bridge Referral Application

Over 1,000 primary care, specialists, behavioral health, and community organizations across the state are using the GLHC Bridge Referral Application to send, receive, and manage referrals. This application is helping organizations manage transitions of care and ultimately enhance patient care and staff workflow.

Reminder: Do not use the iNexx Command Center Referral Application for any referral management.

VIPR Enhancements - Coming Soon

Programs tab - The Programs tab will help healthcare and community organizations work together to provide patients with tailored services and improved outcomes. When a patient is a program participant, the programs tab will display the name of the program and a link to more information. Learn about Programs on the GLHC website, www.gl-hc.org/patient-programs.

Solution Center login and home page - This enhancement is only relevant to users who access VIPR through the URL/web. Users will see a new GLHC branded login screen and home page with GLHC information and messages. The home page can provide access to other GLHC solutions depending on the user role.

Direct (Trust) Addresses + Messaging

Organizations use a GLHC provisioned Direct Address when their EMR is too expensive or cannot provide a Direct Address, or when their EMR will not provision a Direct Address to the organization (only to practitioners). GLHC will be retiring the current Direct Message management tool and transitioning to a new cloud-based management tool.

Organizations using both the iNexx Command Center Direct or Medicity WebDirect will move to a (new) GLHC cloud-based tool. This tool has a modern interface, is easier to use, and will not slow down as the volume of Direct Messages increases. Organizations with a “personalized” subdomain will need to decide to move to a GLHC standard subdomain (free) or keep their unique subdomain for a small yearly fee.

GLHC Inbox


GLHC will retire the iNexx Command Center iNBox and replace it with a new tool that GLHC has created to work in union with the Virtual Integrated Patient Record (VIPR). The GLHC Inbox will be a central hub for clinical results and ADT from local hospitals if practices have opted against an interface to their EMR. The GLHC Inbox will be part of the Solution Center.

A focus on Advance Care Planning

In partnership with Making Choices Michigan, the Capital Area Summit will feature an Advance Care Planning (ACP) track with three breakout sessions.  Nursing and Social Work continuing education credits are pending ($10/credit hour, cash and check only) for this event.  Network and learn from local, state, and national leaders!

Learn the best practices of implementing Advance Care Planning (ACP) programs in various settings (healthcare and community based). Presentations will help attendees understand recent policy changes, advance directive storage/retrieval mechanisms, and how to promote shared decision making at all stages of ACP. These presentations will enhance healthcare provider’s ability to honor a person’s wishes!
