Flo Rosenstock at
Art in the Orchard

Flo is a member of a fiber group called the Fiberistas. Her piece, "La Cage Au Fowl" was one of 30 out of 100 entries selected for the "Art in the Orchard."
"Art in the Orchard" is an annual exhibition of outdoor sculptures and site specific installations displayed over the hills and fields of Park Hill Orchard located at 82 Park Hill Road in Easthampton. Each summer the working apple and peach orchard is host to the much anticipated outdoor display of original art.
"La Cage Au Fowl"is a metal cage-like structure constructed by the Fiberistas to display the bird-like creatures they made from various fibers and other materials. Hopefully it will survive four months of outdoor life!  Flo's piece is a peacock, which sits contentedly in a peacock chair.
Art in the Orchard runs through Thanksgiving. There is no charge to walk the sculpture trails through the orchards but donations are accepted.

North Quabbin Garlic and Arts Festival

Sandra Tobin of New England Fiber Arts, Ina Peebles of Swift River Glass, Elizabeth Smith of Rough Magic Designs and Deborah Bazer are co-op members who have booths at the Festival this year.

Every year many of our members participate in one of the premier Franklin County fall events, the North Quabbin Garlic and Arts Festival.  This is the festival’s 21st year. It will be held, rain or shine, on Saturday and Sunday September 28-29, 10-5pm.  The festival is located on Foster’s Farm, 60 Chestnut Hill Rd.  Orange, MA.
Truly a family event, there is something for everyone at the Festival! Three stages come alive with musicians and performers while many of the farmers and artists host scheduled workshops and demonstrations to share their skills and crafts. Local food, from grass fed hamburgers to Indian fare, all come with a garlic flare! Free activities for children foster a love of creativity and the natural world, while garlic games galore entice kids of all ages.  www.garlicandarts.org
“I love being a part of this event every year”, says fiber artist Sandra Tobin.  “It has such a wonderful atmosphere and I not only meet people from all over New England but since it is only 5 miles from my house, I also get to see many of my friends and neighbors.”
