New Family Buddy Program
Let’s start the school year off right by helping kids experiencing homelessness get the school supplies they need. While you are doing your own school shopping, please take time to think about less fortunate children in our city. Supplies will be collected in a labelled bin outside the school office, starting Monday, 8/19 through Friday, 8/30. Supplies needed included: new back packs, pencil cases, markers, crayons, pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, binders, flashcards, graph paper, mini-staplers and wide-ruled paper. All supplies will be delivered to School on Wheels, a nonprofit that helps tutor the homeless children of Southern California.
Reflections is a PTA sponsored national art contest in which students create works for a specific theme - next year's theme is "Look Within". 3rd/4th/5th Graders are encouraged to begin brainstorming ideas over the summer and consider submitting a piece of original artwork via sketch, painting, sculpture, story, poem, photo, or dance piece for 2019/2020 contest.
