Last weekend I came home from Stitches Midwest with a modest pile of yarn.
The goal was to get yarn for new two-color brioche samples, for the upcoming Adventures in Brioche multi-day class at Camp Stitches Saddlebrook. For the sake of variety, I tried to stay away from purple and gray – I already have Jesse, after all – only to discover after the fact that I’d purchased two piles of blue and gray. sigh. Not that much variety, eh?

So you might be wondering what I’m going to do with my #stitcheshaul. Ha! Me too. I’m not sure yet what the Southampton will become.
But the Luxury? That’s an itty-bitty WIP right now.
That WIP is going to grow into a long, skinny, triangle-shaped wrap, possibly with some Thumbs Up patterning along one edge.
What sort of brioche project can you envision with the Southampton?

My WIPs would probably grow a lot faster if I wasn’t spending so much time making improvements at Stitch-Maps.com. Here’s what’s changed in just the past month:
- The site now has symbols for some absurdly wide cable crosses. Stitch maps containing these symbols might sometimes look a little wonky, since the symbols won’t bend even if the rows bend. But who knows? You might find a use for them anyway.
- As a thank-you, I’m now offering translators credit towards a subscription, in exchange for helping translate the site’s user interface into languages other than English. Want to lend a hand? Just visit the translator’s guide to get started.
- A conversation on Ravelry prompted some tinkering under the hood, and resulted in some speed gains. Thanks for the heads-up, IndigoKiwi and irishlacenet!
With all the time I spend on it, I guess you could say that the website is my biggest WIP!
Note that I do take suggestions. I can’t promise I’ll act on all of them, but I will take them into consideration. Do you need new symbols, or some other feature? Let me know!

These rules are designed to reduce fraud and make online payments more secure. Technically, they only apply to transactions between EU-based businesses and their EU-based customers – but, even though I’m based in the US, I’m updating Stitch-Maps.com anyway, just to be on the safe side.
If you’re a subscriber at Stitch-Maps.com (thank you!!), how does SCA affect you? Hopefully, not by much. If you’re based in the EU, your bank may require additional authentication (such as entering a code sent to you via text message) before it allows subscription payments. And all subscribers may see slight changes in how subscriptions are handled, such as the emails you receive regarding your subscription payments. But that should be it. Of course, if ever you run into difficulties using Stitch-Maps.com, please contact me!
