Today is World Honey Bee Day.
There are days for everything! Here's a link full of "day" trivia to distract you from the heat.

Here in Chinatown, things are buzzing.

What fun!

The Grand Opening of the Japanese Heritage Exhibit of our Chinatown Cultural Gallery showcased the wonderful storyboards from the Japanese American Citizens League, along with other artifacts, origami, poetry writing, cheater chopsticks and tasty treats.

Thanks to those who attended! And special thanks to Dale Ikeda, Brynn Saito, Jackie Stogbauer and Morgan Doizaki. Additional help and contributions provided by Barbara Wilson, Jan Minami, Jim Koch, Tofuji and Central Fish.

2nd Annual Community Picnic

Tuesday, October 8

Do you remember our free "Meet Your Neighbors" Picnic at the Fire Station last year? A lot has happened since then. We look forward to meeting with everyone and sharing how Chinatown is changing.

The free Community Picnic is once again at the Fire Station in Chinatown. We're adding vendors and music. More details as we add them.

Sponsors are welcome for this free event. Here is the Invest in Chinatown brochure and here are more details.

Fresno Chinatown Preservation

We welcome and celebrate this new Chinatown organization that focuses on historic preservation. There are many beautiful and significant historic buildings in Chinatown, including this one, the Mexican Baptist Church on the corner of Mariposa and E Streets. Find the recognized Chinatown historic buildings here on our website.
  Future Gallery Exhibits

Our next two exhibits are Mexican Heritage and African American Heritage. Join us to plan the exhibits! Cultural authenticity is crucial to a good exhibit.
