We launched version 3.7 of the Bridge+More software today. Below you can read about the changes to the app and the changes to the dealer's firmware.
Please update tablet to app version 3.091 and remember to let the tablet update the dealer's firmware (to version 3.01.26).
Please remember to turn the dealer Off and On after the firmware update - and please ensure the dealer have a battery level of more than 20% before updating the firmware.
- Please notice due to the tablet software update - you will need to (or rather allow) the update of the tablet software when asked to Install. If you during install are asked to "Allow ... (2 times) then answer yes - especially on Huawei tablets. When asked please use this setting:
We have updated the dealer's firmware:
- We are now back on track as today's new app and especially the new firmware have both automatic calibration added (step 1), use the rewritten turn and eject principles (step 2) and use the rewritten card push and pull principles (step 3).
As mentioned, the automatic calibration of the dealer takes place at the first board of a tournament - and calibration are repeated if the dealer experiences card code recognition levels below certain thresholds (which also means we re-calibrate if dirt changes the card code recognition levels). If this first board after the update gives several subsequent errors please try first to use another deck of cards for the calibration and if the change of cards does not help please do a manual calibration as explained here (notice - we have removed the password protection) - https://bridgeplusinfo.com/how-to-calibrate/
We have added a new feature as listed below:
- Multiple sessions and sections size can now both be of different sizes
We have also added improvements as listed below:
- We have swapped the Skip and Results buttons to reduce wrong click when using tablet's navigation key Icons
Next minor update will be a number of small design changes mainly based on user's comments,
Next major update will be an off-line app version that makes it possible to continue the game even if no internet when playing or if unstable internet - or use the batch feature - load the game details and go to the beach to play bridge.
During the last week we downgraded the app and the firmware - as written in the footer of the server pages - we needed to analyze user data as we experienced some restraints on our servers.
I have here mentioned our log system, where we log a hign number of datapoints from the dealer, tablet and server which we use for analysis purpose. We can differentiate the detail level and timing of the log down to club and table, tablet, dealer.
As I mentioned above, we can see if a server is not performing as expected - for example
this graph show an important server measures development over the last 3 week and as mentioned we noticed and increase! (and it also shows that we solved it) - which we with a few click can relate - in real time or past - to a high number of other measurements - from the server, the SQL database, network, other services to mention a few. Hereby we can often see the reasons for the deviation - internally - as well as externally with the information from our log system and usage patterns based on IP addresses. These observations are then used by our developers together with our debugging tools to find and correct the not optimal code.
It is the same system called - Datadog - as illustrated below
we are warned by if a service or a server have stopped (we actually have two warning levels/systems just in case) or is behaving abnormal (by pattern analysis).
Please notice - any stopped / halted - servers / services - will automatically be restarted in between 60 to 240 seconds.
