Old school

When I was first diagnosed with hairy cell leukemia in 2000, Diane’s daughter Anne gave me these socks to lift my spirits. Over the next 11 years I spent a lot of time in the infusion room, usually on Fridays, when I wouldn’t be missed at work. And I’d wear these socks.

This month marks seven years since I last set foot in an infusion room, but I still like to wear these old socks on Fridays to remember how lucky I am. And what a kick it is to be writing about television again! Thanks for reading. —Aaron
