NEW JUNIOR ROWERS
RETURNING JUNIOR ROWERS
Summer Rowing Camps are an opportunity to learn to row, and to build on existing rowing skills. A typical day includes warm-up, morning row, swimming, lunch, games and other physical activities on land, and (weather permitting) an afternoon row. We aim to create a “club” environment where teens want to spend the summer with friends, while staying active outside!

The recommended ages for Junior Rowing Programs at Mic Mac AAC is 12-18. However, 11-year-olds who are at least 56″ tall or weigh at least 70lbs will also be accepted. All rowing equipment is provided.

JUNIOR LEARN TO ROW

This is an introductory program for youth trying the sport for the first time
  • Curriculum includes safety, injury prevention, equipment, sport terminology, and the basic elements of a rowing stroke - both sculling and sweeping
  • This program is offered at the same time as the Junior Recreational Rowing program, allowing participants to progress at their own pace

JUNIOR RECREATIONAL ROWING

This program is for youth who have completed a Learn to Row Program, and wish to continue with the sport in a non-competitive setting
  • Curriculum is a continuation of the basic skills covered in Learn to Row in a setting that is focussed on fun, fitness, and enjoyment of the outdoors

FULL DAYS: $160/week, Monday-Froday 9:00AM-4:00PM

HALF DAYS: $90/week, Monday-Friday 9:00AM-1:00PM or 12:00PM-4:00PM

Option for Early Drop-Off at 8:00AM, and Late Pick-Up until 5:00PM

Annual membership fees of $20 to Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA), and $15 to Row Nova Scotia (RNS) will be added to the program fee for the first program each participant joins each membership year (April 1-March 31). The RCA Online Registration system will automatically add these fees during the registration process.

*** Note that Week 8 (August 26-30) of Junior Summer Camp has been cancelled. Anyone wishing to row this summer is encouraged to register for Weeks 6 and/or 7.
