Informational Athletic Meeting
Our athletic program is almost ready to begin and before tryouts start and intramurals are rolling we will be holding an informative Athletic Meeting this Thursday, August 15th at 4:30 PM in the Lutz Prep Cafeteria

  • Due to space, please DO NOT arrive before 4:00 PM. 
  • Parking will be available in the car loop field at that time and parents can begin to arrive in the building at 4:10 PM through the side gate (near carloop) south of the main building. 
  • I will be at the south-side gate to greet you and guide you to our meeting location. (gate used for ceremony entrance/exit)
  • Please advise the gate will close promptly at 4:30PM.

 
Information will cover the first three competitive sports (coed cross country, girls JV and Varsity volleyball, and boys soccer) as well as intramural sports.  I will be sure to walk everyone through the sign up process as well as explain how the seasons run.  We WILL NOT have a complete schedule until Monday, August 19th as we are still in discussions with the other school participants to see who will be playing this season, as well as trying to obtain coaches for our own teams.

Blazing Bolts Running Club (1st-5th Grade)

The Lutz Prep Blazing Bolts Running Club will be starting Tuesday, August 20th.  Our club will consist of any 1st-5th grade student that would like to participate in an after school activity but either isn't old enough, or prefers a less competitive atmosphere.

The Blazing Bolt Running Club is a fun way to have your students learn about running as well as give them time to socialize with their friends in a safe, friendly environment.  The Blazing Bolts' events will take place eight times per grading quarter and will be hosted at the Lutz Prep Soccer Field from after school until 4:30 PM.  The calendar below gives you the exact dates and times that the club will meet.

During our events your children will learn the value of exercise, collect prizes for their accomplishments, and, most importantly, be able to have fun with their friends.  Each student that signs up will also receive a free Blazing Bolts dri-fit T-Shirt at no extra cost and be able to participate in the end of quarter "party" where other prizes for exemplary performances will be handed out. 

The Blazing Bolt Club is already booking up and only open to the first thirty children who sign up.  
 

Blazing Bolts Running Schedule - After School Until 4:30 PM

  • Tues. Aug. 20 - Introduction and light run
  • Tues. Aug. 27

Deadline to submit all THREE required steps below is Monday, August 19th at midnight or student will not be allowed to participate.  The FHSAA Sports Physicals can be done in a very fast, inexpensive manner at many local walk in clinics such as CVS or Medi-Express (it is not the same as an annual check up).

Intramural CoEd Flag Football (1st-5th Grade)

In keeping with our focus on offering more after-school athletic choices for our younger athletes we have decided to offer Coed Flag Football to all of our 1st-5th grade Bolts.  This will be a new and exciting venture for us and I am very excited to get it under way.  

Coach Bobby Fox will be coaching this inaugural season in hopes of teaching your athletes the basic skills, rules, and hopefully spark a love for the game all in a safe and fun environment.  There is an $80 enrollment fee that will cover all eight, one hour sessions as well as each athlete's own dri-fit shirt.
