For the last 11 years, the National Center has honored the best and brightest young leaders in Indian Country through the Native American 40 under 40 award program. Over 400 men and women are now part of this growing family, which includes tribal leaders, entrepreneurs, attorneys, doctors, teachers and professors, artists and entertainers, athletes, journalists, a Congresswoman, chefs, and many others. The National Center Awarded Grant from Wells Fargo Foundation

The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (the National Center) was recently awarded a $500,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation to expand the organization’s highly successful Native Edge Institutes. The grant will be used to help facilitate Native Edge Institutes (NEIs) in four states:  Alaska, Arizona, California, and Nevada.

The National Center Supports Alaska Wild Salmon

The week of September 16 - 20 was Bristol Bay Wild Salmon Week in Washington, DC. The National Center was proud to support the week, which saw over 25 restaurants in Washington, DC serve wild sockeye salmon from Bristol Bay, Alaska. Bristol Bay salmon are central to the way of life for Native Alaskans' who live in Bristol Bay, as well as the Bristol Bay Native Corporation. National Center President and CEO Chris James caught up with Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) during one of the week's events.

2019 American Indian Business Scholarship Award Winners Announced


The National Center announced two winners of its 2019 American Indian Business Scholarships. Receiving the scholarships were Jamy Malone and Gabe Garcia. The scholarship recipients were honored at the Native American 40 under 40 Awards Gala. Learn more about Jamy and Gabe's accomplishments!

The National Center Continues its Advocacy in Washington, DC

The National Center was busy in DC during September. Chris James visited Capitol Hill to discuss reauthorizing critical programs for Native Americans and Alaska Natives at the Small Business Administration, as well as key Indian Country economic development legislation. He also met with Rep. Dina Titus (D-NV), who represents Las Vegas. She's excited that RES is #onlyindistrict1 - we hope she can join us in March!
