WEBINAR WEDNESDAY
August 7, 2019 @ 12:00 PM CDT
Computer Science (CS) can be a game changer for young people when they learn to be creators, not just consumers of technology. The 2019 National Youth Science Day (NYSD) challenge, Game Changers. Designed by Google and West Virginia Extension service, Game Changers uses online coding, physical activity and puzzles to teach kids important CS concepts.
This webinar will prepare you to foster computational thinking and support youth in taking on the Game Changers challenge themselves. Learn how you can help youth apply their innovative problem-solving skills.
NYSD is a free resource that engages young people ages 8-14 in coding and computational thinking. It is perfect for afterschool programs. Youth will use computer science (CS) to engage their passions, create games and solve problems. This webinar will help staff develop confidence in leading active, engaging CS experiences that challenge and inspire youth to be game changers.
