Hello,

I hope your August is off to a great and productive start. From my anniversary milestone of twenty years a neurosurgeon last month to the launch of my upcoming book in October, I've definitely continued to stay busy!

Along with that, I was honored to be featured on KevinMD.com recently to discuss the proper treatment of concussions. When it comes to properly diagnosing brain trauma, identifying key red flags can be the difference between placing a patient on the proper treatment path to a swift recovery or risking long-term consequences. I recommend that all patients carefully screen who they choose to trust with their post-concussion care, because it can be detrimental to future health.

I also had a chance to comment on identifying brain aneurysms, and was quoted in MSN this summer. All too often people mistake the warning signs of an aneurysm for painful headaches or migraines and fail to seek proper medical attention before it is too late. It's important to be educated on the tell-tale signs of when it is time to get to the emergency room.

6 Scary Signs of a Brain Aneurysm Everyone Should Know

This is the book I'm reading right now, and highly recommend. Check it out if you get the chance!

Lastly, I'm excited to say we're only two short months away from the launch of my new book, Cognitive Dominance: A Brain Surgeon’s Quest to Out-Think Fear. Thank you to all of you who have expressed interest, it is extremely appreciated. Head to my website to be among the first to have a copy by subscribing to the pre-order list!
Warm regards,
Mark
