$20 Millon Restored to Construction Aid
The New York State Library has announced that an additional $20 million has been added to the 2019/2020 State Aid for Library Construction program. This brings the total for the program year to $34 million. Each public library system will receive the same allocation of aid as for the 2018/2019 program year. CCLS will receive $817,876, this provides $481,104 more than anticipated. The new allocation chart is available on the web site at http://www.nysl.nysed.gov/libdev/construc/cons14m.htm

We will be reviewing application deadlines to provide more time to apply and updating those in the near future. If your library did not apply for a construction grant this year due to fewer funds being available, please look at any projects you may be interested in doing and contact me right away. I will make arrangements to come to your library for a site visit to discuss your project. The CCLS board will review the additional applications for approval.

Now is the time to act! Let me know what projects you have ASAP and we will work out a plan to handle SHPO, bids, etc.

Watch for an updated timeline for applying!
