Here’s what’s happening in Denver.

Summer might be winding down for those headed back to school in a week or two, but the summer scene isn’t winding down for the rest of us anytime soon. Check out what’s fun around town in the world of wellness this week!

🎿 From Epic to Ikonic

Not long after announcing that they were calling it quits with Vail Resorts and the Epic Pass, A-Basin announced they’d be joining the Ikon Pass for the 2019/2020 season. If you’re willing to dish out $1,049 as an Ikon passholder, you’ll score seven days at A-Basin with no blackout dates (plus unlimited days at select other resorts). Or you can stick with the Ikon Base for $749 and snag five days (with some holiday blackouts).

🔥 More Pilates, Please

Looking for a luxurious way to sweat? You’re in luck because Lagree Luxe is now open in the Golden Triangle! If you’ve never Lagree’d, let us tell you this workout is no joke. It uses the Megaformer to give you a high-intensity, low-impact workout that removes momentum for slow and controlled movements. You’ll feel that burn into tomorrow (and the next day).

⛰ Next-Gen Neptune

Boulder outdoor gear shop Neptune Mountaineering is shaking up their retail game with a new concept called Neptune LAB. The LAB will be a dedicated space inside the store that showcases a curated selection of innovative sports and outdoor products, as well as brands developed through crowdfunding campaigns. Neptune promises to vet all products before displaying them, and you’ll also have a chance to provide feedback to the brand. The initial launch will feature brands like Boundary Supply, DCMountaineering, and Boulder’s own monkii.

🙊 Shut Up and Hike

Connect with nature in a whole new way with a unique hiking experience from MindTravel. SilentHike is an immersive music and meditation experience, and it’s headed to Colorado. Hikers will meet at the Hunter Creek Trailhead in Aspen (August 18) or Realization Point Trailhead in Boulder (August 20), grab a pair of wireless headphones, and head off to hike with intentional music and commentary from the man who composed it, @murrayhidary, who’s also guiding the way. It’s free, but you’ve got to register to hold your spot.

🌿 Green Eats in Golden

Golden’s getting some healthy new eats, and we’ve got to tell you about it. From the folks behind popular food truck SOS Catering is Derive Bistro. Husband-wife owners Sean and Samantha Kelley describe the cuisine as vegan comfort food. And they aren’t stopping at the eats — the entire restaurant was developed with vegans in mind, even down to the type of soap used in the restrooms.

🍽 Food Hall Frenzy

Apparently Golden is the place to be because there are TWO food halls bound for this former gold rush town. Not much is known yet about the vendors at Golden Mill (set to open later this year by the folks behind Stanley Marketplace), but we're pretty pumped for Tributary Market & Drinkery. Born from the brains of Josh Dinar and Chef Daniel Asher (of Broadway Market, River and Woods, and Ash’Kara), Tributary wasn’t purposely built to be healthy, but you certainly can be with picks like Kona Bowls, Working Title Kitchen & Raw Bar, and Generous Coffee Co.

🌽 Happy National Farmers Market Week!

Summer is in full swing, and that means it’s time to celebrate Colorado growers cranking out loads of fresh produce. These vendors proudly serve Denver each week so that you can buy local and eat like you give a hoot. With 12 excellent markets around the city, there’s sure to be one near you — check out our guide!

Boatloads of Lobster in LoHi
We may be landlocked, but we can still get our hands on some legit lobster thanks to a brand new spot from Maine native Drew Ryan. You can now find goodies like lobster rolls, lobster mac & cheese, lobster BLTs, lobster pie, and lobster tail all in a quaint space that’ll make you feel like you’re in New England. Maine Shack set up shop at 1535 Central St. in LoHi, and Denver is already loving it — the restaurant reportedly sold 200 pounds of crustacean on opening day.

Better Made Boozy Brats
Sustainable and humanely-raised meats plus craft beer is a match made in heaven, and it’s now a reality with a collaboration between Niman Ranch and New Belgium Brewing. Think Fat Tire bratwursts and pulled pork, plus shredded beef and ribs doused in Fat Tire-steeped sauces. Want a taste? Get ’em at Marczyk!

ShoutOuts

Shoutout to Gina Caputo and Kady Lafferty for repping the Colorado yoga scene at Wanderlust 108 this weekend. We all know that Wanderlust is the real deal when it comes to yoga and mindfulness, locking down the best of the best talent. So, you know if they’re down with these two yogis, you should be too!
