Equity Adjustments Equity adjustments for “below-market” classifications with recruitment and retention issues and gender disparities NO equity adjustments
Hiring and Promotions Continue fair and inclusive hiring and promotion practices:

• Maintain current civil service protections for all classifications
• Maintain the current size of ranked eligibility lists 
Give upper management more power to choose who they hire and promote: 

• Completely remove civil service hiring protections from 75+ management classifications 
• Increase the size of eligibility lists from 4 to 10
Paid Family Leave Provide 6 weeks of paid family leave for baby bonding or care of seriously ill family members Maintain the current 6 weeks of paid leave only for baby bonding
Acting Pay City must make a reasonable effort to rotate Acting Pay. Postings must be clearly visible and sent via email. Acting Pay assignments at management's discretion
Salary Step & Range Advancement Maintain fair system for step increases to prevent favoritism Step increases at management’s discretion
Paid Leave  Maintain employee’s ability to cash out paid leave as needed Reduce employees’ ability to sell back paid leave. Eliminate the ability to cash out sick leave and currently banked vacation leave. Require future vacation cash-outs to be pre-elected in the previous year.
Holidays Add Cesar Chavez Day, maintain Admissions Day Switch Admissions Day for Cesar Chavez Day
AC Transit Pass Make the program free for employees Increase employee contribution to $30/ year
Posting for Exempt Management Positions Maintain the current 10-day posting period so candidates have sufficient time to complete applications Reduce the posting period from 10 days to 5 days
Announcement of Special Qualifications Maintain the current 10-day notice requirement Reduce the notification requirement from 10 days to 5 days
