Join us to celebrate 25yrs of the Optical Networks Group (ONG)

Optical networks underpin the internet and the digital communications infrastructure.

The Optical Networks Group at University College London (UCL) has been performing ground-breaking research in this field for 25 years and to celebrate, we will host a 2-day workshop on 19 & 20 September 2019 with the theme: ‘Optical Networks – the next 25 years?’. (#ONG25).

The workshop will comprise a glittering array of global research leaders from academia and industry, including many ONG alumni, to discuss achievements, exciting developments and the future of the optical communications and networks field.

In addition the event will include the Inaugural Lecture by Professor Robert Killey on 19th September, entitled 'Optical communications in the 2040s: future photonic technology advances for exabit/s networks'.

The attendance is free but you need to register!

Organisers: Professor Polina Bayvel (UCL) and Dr Ben Puttnam (NICT, Japan).

Sponsored and supported by: TRANSNET Programme (www.transnet.org.uk), an EPSRC funded programme – a collaboration between UCL, Aston University & University of Cambridge.

If you are interested in speaking or presenting a poster, please contact Polina Bayvel p.bayvel@ucl.ac.uk or Ben Puttnam ben@nict.org.jp.
