NHSX to oversee tech, digital & data

The government recently announced a newly formed organisation NHSX to oversee NHS technology, digital and data. Here are some of the responsibilities that NHSX will take on:

  • Setting standards: Developing, agreeing and mandating clear standards for the use of technology in the NHS and ensuring transparency across the board.
  • Radical innovation: Supporting the use of new, emergent and effective technologies by the NHS.
  • Cyber policy: Setting national strategy and mandating cybersecurity standards.

Healthcare blockchain could save industry $100 billion by 2025

BIS Research has reported that the uptake of blockchain could save the healthcare industry up to $100 billion per year by 2025 in data breach-related costs, IT costs, operations costs, support function and personnel costs, counterfeit related frauds and insurance frauds. The global blockchain in the healthcare market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 63.85% from 2018 to 2025, to reach a value of $5.61 billion by 2025. The use of blockchain for healthcare data exchange will contribute to the largest market share throughout the forecast period, reaching a value of $1.89 billion by 2025. Read more...
